For your time, Every Second Counts
Written by Kande Murray on June 09th 2020
In the work environment and other areas of your life, it is good to let people know your major accomplishments, but it is even better to ensure your actions align, by maintaining a continuous standard of ethics aiming higher at each hurdle and keeping vital records which can be used to measure improvement, as you go along.
From experiences, in the work environment especially, most of the ”Loudest Ones” are also the Ones who are the least productive and spend most of their time engaging Gossip and encouraging unorthodox work behavior, resulting in them reaching nowhere, and having no accountability for the time invested daily. So it is vital to be Action Oriented. In Biblical terms, “be doers of the word and not hearers only”.
[James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.]
In this time of Global change, some can be left behind if the necessary adjustments are not taken by doing your individual homework in order to seek the transition plan for yourself and your vision then most importantly, quickly implementing it, and willing to do so against all odds. This is the mindset that will be required in order to stay afloat.
Every second counts, and each day you should be able to show in writing what is your progress in this plan, thickening off as you go just as the clock is also ticking.
We have heard so many successful people say to write your Vision and have a Dream Board which also has a Biblical aspect to it, so implementing this always works. If so many have already testified to this truth, why won’t you want to do so and reap the same rewards of success. Write yours too.
[Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no Vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.]
This does not mean that sacrifices will not have to be made along the way. When there is sacrifice in the offering the end result is always greater.
As a Supervisor, not too long after having assumed the responsibility when I did, I laid out a standard Daily Routine or Work Summary as some know it, for the staff and there was an uproar by the sudden reimplementation which allowed me to see off the bat those who were not producing a legitimate days work, as those who were doing so, remained quiet and complied with the instructions given. Then the necessary adjustments were made.
Also, if you cannot plan and also account for 8 hours work, how can you plan and structure your Vision to set it in motion? If we are not paying attention to and managing the small details, how can we do this on a bigger scale? We won’t be able to.
If you are a Business owner and your staff is not willing to keep accurate records of their time/daily production, and only works well under micromanagement then you will need to bring persons who are vision oriented as success starts with proper record keeping and data even when unprompted to do so. If there is no proper record for what is happening minute by minute, probably nothing is.
I believe part of writing the Vision and making it plain, has to do with those under your charge doing so also in alignment. This will also allow you to see those who are not aligned with your vision even if they were previously.
Change is inevitable !
