Life is colourful, so is art which reflects inner beauty. In the beginning there was darkness and the Lord spoke light into the world, that light brought colour and life, this is why when mourning the death of someone we wear dark colours to represent death and the grave although we are still supposed to celebrate their afterlife which is much more beautiful than what we know here.
Everything that God adds to our life is to bring joy and laughter which can be represented in so many ways particularly by our use of bright colours, representing boldness, beauty and confidence.
I recently faced a challenge working with a client who wanted all their designs to be dark upon completion and this was because they were silently still mourning major disappointments they faced in life unknowingly. However, this became a great challenge for me as the designs that I produce are all by Godโs grace and they flow from a place of love, peace, strength, healing, joy and everything along those lines because this is a God given gift that I barely have control over, hence although dark colours are used in the creation of our work, it is mainly to highlight the bright areas and the final product has to mainly reflect light. Nothing is wrong with black but it is not a colour, it is what the world looked like before God added light, so that we can now enjoy a variation of colour and the expression of light in so many ways.
This topic does not at all speak about skin colour, rather the world of Art and Design therefore I hope it is not going to be distorted to fulfil any particular biased agenda. Dark skin is absolutely very beautiful.
Additionally, to every good thing that we are given the enemy tries to distort and deflect the beauty in it which is why they associated the use of selected bright colours to homosexuality, making some persons afraid to place certain colours in their brands and associated to their names. We need to know that God gave us light on earth for a reason, colour to use and a rainbow as a promise. So let us beautify our lives and whilst using creating a contrast as a reminder that we are no longer subjected to darkness, everlasting life and light once we follow the Lords guidance.
I am a Website and Graphic Designer that Loves the use of full colour and genuinely struggle when a client asks for their work to be dark, gloomy and dismal, and for this reason, even dropped a project not wanting to be a disappointment to that client although I do love a challenge my talent flows from Heaven and it is bright and beautiful up there, know this by having seen the front in a vision years ago where the brightness was almost blinding at the entrance, therefore forgive me for my constant use of bright colours that can barely be resisted.
